About Me

Hello!

Welcome to my blog all about the castles of the British Isles.

I hate to break it to you... but if you have come in search of tales of medieval warfare or courtly life you will not find that here. You will, however, find out how castles have been used, and how their blood-soaked histories have been understood, by people from the time of the Industrial Revolution to ourselves in the twenty-first century. So stick around and learn untold stories of the buildings that dominate the history and landscape of the British Isles, as I attempt to fill in some of the gaps of castles' 'biographies.'

I hope you enjoy reading about my research.

Please do get in touch using the 'contact me' form below if you have any questions, comments, or any castle stories to share.
